Welcome to Galanis Foods.
Based in Melbourne, we are importers and wholesalers of high quality traditional and organic food products made in Greece. We distribute products across Australia.
Our family run business has been inspired by our passion for quality food. Our grandfather Giorgos Oikonomakos, affectionately nicknamed Galanis (for his blue eyes), was a master butcher and set the benchmark for high quality and innovation in his hometown of Kalamata.
He has inspired his children and grandchildren to have a love of fine foods in a variety of areas from award winning food stores, seafood traders and chefs. Founded in 2015, our mission is to promote the unique flavours of Greece, reflecting the country’s rich biodiversity, unparalleled Mediterranean climate and strong gastronomic traditions.
We are focused on small to medium sized food producers, typically family run, which operate across niche markets. These businesses are committed to providing high quality traditional food products, reflecting their passion (known as meraki in Greek), commitment and focus on innovation.
